Are you an aspiring chef or a Mini Pitmaster who loves to help cook at home? Are you under the age of 16, but would love to try your skills in the world of competitive food sport? Then Kid's Q is right for you!
Kid's Q is a "Chef's Choice" style cook where kids, under the age of 16, are provided one main protein and they are tasked with the exciting job of creating a dish for official judging. The protein will be ground beef and all entries must be large enough for 6 samples. Judges will cut entries into the necessary number of samples if individual samples are not provided). Kids may use garnish in their turn-in box, but it is not required.
There are two cooking categories offered, based on age ranges, and the competition will take place on Saturday immediately following the Professional BBQ Team turn-in times. The Kid's Q competition will take place in the Kid's Q Corral, and turn-ins will be at 3:00 pm at the judge's tent. There is an entry fee of $25 for each Kid's Q team.
