Support The Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter through Sip & Swine

March 1st – 2nd will be here before we know it, and we’re looking forward to our fourth annual Sip & Swine BBQ Festival! It’s going to be great to meet all of the guests, listen to live music, and, of course, taste the delicious barbeque. But the best part is that the event goes towards supporting a really great cause. Proceeds from Sip & Swine go to the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.

Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter helps homeless children and their mothers by providing a nurturing place for them to stay. While the nonprofit provides shelter for the kids and their moms, they also have individualized life skills training for Mom so that she can create a plan to get back on her feet and move towards independence. They meet the needs of the kids while giving their moms the life-skills tools they need for the future. Along with that, they also help young women who age out of the foster system at age 18.

Sip & Swine is an annual event, and as we said, all proceeds go to the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. You might be wondering how you can get involved with Sip & Swine 2019 so you can be a part of not only the fun but making a difference in the community.

There are a few ways you can get involved with Sip & Swine:

  • Sponsorships
  • Volunteering Your Time
  • Attending the Event

Sponsorships.

We have a few levels of sponsorship available for Sip & Swine 2019. We’re so thankful for all the sponsors who support Sip & Swine and help us make a difference. The financial support goes a long way in making the event a success.

The different levels of sponsorship are:

  • Grand Champion Sponsor – $20,000
  • Que Crew Sponsorship – $5,000
  • Full-rack Sponsorship – $2,500
  • Half-rack Sponsorship – $1,000
  • Baby Back Sponsorship – $500

You can choose the level of support that’s right for you. If you’re looking to donate to a worthy cause in the New Year, consider Sip & Swine and the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter.

You can find out more about becoming a sponsor on our Sponsors page. And if you want to apply to be a sponsor, you can apply here.

Volunteering Your Time.

We couldn’t put on the event without all the wonderful volunteers who come out on Friday and Saturday and give their time to help with the event. It’s a whirlwind of a time, but it’s so rewarding getting to meet people from the community and know that you’re helping a great cause. The responsibilities and “jobs” of the volunteers during the festival vary. You might be assisting with T-shirt sales. You might be helping with cleanup. You might be helping in the People’s Choice BBQ Tasting tent. Whatever the job might be, we’re grateful to everyone who comes out to volunteer at Sip & Swine.

Interested in lending a hand at the BBQ Festival? You can apply here to be a volunteer.

Attending Sip & Swine.

And of course, you can also support the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter by coming to the Barbeque Festival, which is free to attend. But when you’re there, you can participate in the People’s Choice BBQ Tasting. Sip & Swine features a barbeque competition where have both professional and amateur BBQ teams compete to see who can make the best barbeque. There are official judges, but we also have a People’s Choice BBQ Tasting where attendees of Sip & Swine can sample the different BBQ and choose which one they think is best! Taster Kits for the People’s Choice BBQ Tasting cost $10. By purchasing a plate and casting your vote, you’re also supporting Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter!

There are a lot of ways that you can get involved and support the Sip & Swine BBQ Festival, and we appreciate everyone who helps make the event a success. We hope that you consider donating, volunteering, or attending the event! See you the first weekend in March at Coolray Field!
